A Vicksburg man faces burglary charges after Vicksburg police found him hiding in the attic of a vacant house in the 900 block of Bowmar Avenue Sunday evening, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

Williams said officers responding to a 7 p.m. call about someone breaking into the house arrested Simon Atkins, 28, 2416 Halls Ferry Road, about 7:45 after they found him in the attic during a search of the house.

Atkins was taken to the Issaquena County Jail, where he was being held without bond pending an initial appearance today in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
