Stephen W. Harden

Stephen W. Harden died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Promise Hospital. He was 55.

Mr. Harden was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He had worked as an assistant engineer at Waterways Experiment Station. He was of the Methodist faith. He was known for his people skills. He was loved and admired by many. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harl Harden; and his brother, Robert “Bay” Harden.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Davis Harden of Vicksburg; three daughters, Dawn Davis and Crystal Harden, both of Virginia, and Tiffeny Monk of Vicksburg; his mother, Joyce R. Harden of Vicksburg; a brother, Michael Harden and wife, Sharon of Clinton; an aunt, Pat Barker of Vicksburg; an uncle, John W. Ray Jr. of Atlanta; a niece, Rebecca Harden of Washington, D.C.; a nephew, John Harden of Magnolia Ark.; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. James VanEtten officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.
