Services for the Rev. Booker T. Smith will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Jesse Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem M.B. Church Cemetery in Bovina. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the family present from 6 until 7 p.m.

Mr. Smith died Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. He was 71.

He was the pastor of Holly Hill M.B. Church in Oak Ridge and Bethlehem M.B. Church in Bovina.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Smith; his mother, Mary Collins; and brothers, Harvey D. Smith, Frankie L. Collins, Willie Leon Sampson, Louis Edward Lofton, Barnell Sampson Jr., Lil Booker and James Sampson.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Carter Smith of Vicksburg; his daughter, Tamika A. Smith of Jackson; a son, Michael A. Smith of Vicksburg; two brothers, Robert Collins of Jackson and Joe Willie Lofton of Kuwait; sisters, Mary Davis of Bartlett, Tenn., Lizzie Lofton of Greenwood, Ethel Lofton of Racine, Ill., Viola McKinely of Jackson, Leola Collins of New Jersey; three grandchildren; and nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.
