M-Braves fall again to Mobile

Mobile resumed its mastery of the Mississippi Braves on Thursday night.

Daryle Ward belted a three-run homer in the sixth inning, Taylor Harbin added a solo shot two batters later, and the BayBears beat the M-Braves 4-2.

Cory Harrilchak had three hits for the M-Braves. Zeke Spruill lasted seven innings on the mound, but walked six batters. Two of the five hits he surrendered left the park.

It was Mobile’s 19th win in 26 games against the M-Braves this season, and came a day after Mississippi had won for just the second time in the last 11 games of the season series.

The BayBears, in first place in the Southern League’s South Division, lead the fourth-place M-Braves by 9 1/2 games. Game three of the five-game series is tonight at 7:05 in Mobile.
