Raymond Dean Sharpe, 48, of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at his residence in Vicksburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 3, 2011, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon today until the service.

Born in Shreveport, La., Mr. Sharpe had lived most of his life in Vicksburg. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after several years of service. He enjoyed music, played in several bands and loved the New Orleans Saints.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Samuel W. King Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Sharpe of Vicksburg; his mother, Julia King-Savoie; sons, Eric Robinson and Drew Robinson; daughter, Holly Hadad (Doug); sisters, Angela Gillard (Randy) and Janice Harrison (Rodney); grandchild, Haley Hadad; nephews, Morgan Salas and Hunter Harrison; and nieces, Kori Harrison and Tia Marshall.

Pallbearers will be Drew Robinson, Doug Hadad, Alexander Neal, Red Dowdy, Rodney Harrison and Michael Mayfield.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Savoie, Arthur Baker, Stanley Tilden and Hunter Harrison.
