JACKSON— Retired Col. Cary E. Bufkin passed away Sept. 20, 2011. He was 82.

Col. Bufkin served as staff judge advocate for the 412th Engineer Command, having responsibility for the legal issues of the engineer command and later served with distinction as Chief of Staff of the 412th Engineer Command and was a defense attorney in Jackson, Miss.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Libby, and numerous siblings.

Visitation will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway North Thursday, Sept. 22, 4:30-7 p.m. and Sept. 23 from noon until the funeral at 1 p.m.
