6 chosen for induction into Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame

The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2012 will include the youngest inductee and a 20-year Major League Baseball veteran.

Courtney Blades-Rogers, a star pitcher for the Southern Miss softball team and former National women’s college softball player of the year, will be 34 at the time of the induction making her the youngest member of the Hall.

Joining Blades will be former Mississippi State baseball slugger Rafael Palmeiro

Other inductees are:

• Ole Miss athlete, coach and administrator Eddie Crawford

• Ex-USM golf coach Sam Hall

• Ex-Mississippi State standout basketball player Jeff Malone

• Longtime Mississippi High School Activities Association Executive Director Ennis Proctor.

The induction ceremony is scheduled for July 28, 2012 in Jackson.
