Electronics, purse, knives missing in city

Electronics were among the items taken in a series of weekend burglaries in the city, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Stewart said a Carquest jump box/air compressor combination valued at $100 and two hunting knives valued at $40 were reported stolen Saturday at 2:51 a.m. from a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup parked at Motel 6, 4127 I-20 Frontage Road.

He said a purse and contents valued at $75 were reported stolen at 5:44 p.m. Saturday from an unlocked 2001 Honda Accord parked in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

Sunday, Stewart said, a Pioneer CD player valued at $150 was reported stolen about 8:17 a.m. from a 1991 Chevrolet Caprice parked in the 500 block of Melrose Avenue.

About an hour later, he said, a Pioneer CD/DVD player valued at $500 was reported stolen about 9:11 a.m. from a 2001 Chevrolet Impala parked in the 2400 block of Oak Street.
