Melvin C. Tyler died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at Hospice Ministries Inc. in Ridgeland. He was 63.

Mr. Tyler was a 1965 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University. He was an employee of South Central Bell/BellSouth/AT&T Telecommunications with 40 years of service.

He was a deacon and musician at King Solomon Baptist Church.
