Charles Travis Moore

Charles Travis Moore of Vicksburg passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011 in Birmingham, Ala. He was 23.

Charles was born in Opelika, Ala., on Feb. 17, 1988, and attended schools in Auburn, Ala., and Vicksburg (Warren), and graduated from the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a degree in biomedical engineering.

Deceased grandparents were Travis and Lillie Moore, and Charles and Virginia Killough.

He is survived by his parents, Dr. Thomas and Elaine Moore of Vicksburg; and a brother, Collin Moore of Leipzig, Germany. He also is survived by aunts and uncles, Dr. Travis Moore and Thalia Crooks of Tucson, Martha Willey of Ridgecrest, Calif., David and Julia Killough of Redland, Ala., and Tim and Ellen Finley of Hoover, Ala.; and cousins, Jane and Michael Romeo of Las Vegas, Richard and Meridith Willey of High Bridge, N.J., Chris and Ayten Finley of Auburn and Danny and Allison Finley of Madison, Ala.

Charles was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Cary Stockett, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Good Hope Cemetery in Eclectic, Ala. Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka, Ala., has charge of arrangements.
