Allen, Polk are wed in Florence

Leroy J. Allen Sr. and LaWanda Polk were married at 4 p.m. Sept. 3, 2011, at Castle Hill Pavilion in Florence. Minister Centry Lenoir officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Doris Polk of Port Gibson. She is the granddaughter of the late Addie Parker and Evan Wilson and the late Jessie King.
The groom is the son of Ethel Mae Allen and Robert Allen, both of Hermanville. He is the grandson of the late Abraham and Laura Lee Johnson and the late Betsy and William Allen.
The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Joe Nathan Gusta Jr. Her chosen colors were pool blue, chocolate and ivory.
Maids of honor were Angelia Truitt of Hermanville and Aleva Ellis of Vicksburg. Matron of honor was LaKessha Amos Head of Coila.
Bridesmaids were Pamela Brown, Theresa Clay and Kimberly Dulaney, all of Vicksburg; and LaNadia Edwards, Demetria Gibson and Tara Thompson, all of Port Gibson.
Bobby Johnson of Hermanville served as best man. Groomsmen were Bobby Turner, Melvin Allen, James Johnson, LaVonta Buck and Floyd Johnson, all of Hermanville; Jerry Davis and Daryl King, both of Port Gibson; and Efuntola Barnes of New Orleans.
Flower girl was Kadaj Allen of Port Gibson. Ring bearer was Ladarion Turner of Pattison.
LeRoNeShae Allen served as miniature bride. Miniature groom was Nicolas Hicks.
A reception followed the ceremony. Hostesses were Stephanie Knight, Mary Armstrong, Khiva Cooley, Joquita Gusta and Meiokia Johnson.
For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Oahu, Hawaii.
They will make their home in Port Gibson. The bride is employed with the Mississippi State Department of Health, and the groom is employed at Duckworth Realty.
Shower
The bride was honored with a shower at the old Electric Building in downtown Jackson.
