Gene Thompson and Shirley Brewer were married at 11 a.m. Oct. 8, 2011, in Ridgeland. Dr. Randall Hancock officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of George and Ruby Brewer of Vicksburg. The groom is the son of William and Susan Thompson of Vicksburg.

Maids of honor were Samantha and Sarah Hancock of Ridgeland. Joshua Hancock of Ridgeland served as best man.

A reception followed the ceremony at 121 Woodland Springs Drive in Ridgeland. Hostess was Tracey Hancock.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Natchez. They will make their home in Vicksburg.

The bride is an X-ray technologist at The Street Clinic, and the groom is retired and pursuing the office of Warren County Chancery Clerk.
