WOOD RIVER, Ill. — Rebecca Edith Shaw, a former Vicksburg resident, died at 2:28 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, in Methodist West Houston Hospital. She was 58.

Born in St. Louis on March 12, 1953, she was the daughter of Jack and Norma (Wiedner) Hale.

She married David Lee Shaw on Nov. 2, 1974, in Wood River, Ill. He survives.

Surviving also are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian and Paula Shaw and Kevin Shaw all of Katy, Texas; a stepson, Jarred Shaw of East Alton, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Constantino Ortega of Katy; four grandchildren, Mariah and Devin Shaw, Amber and Jacob Ortega; two brothers, Shawn Hale of Wood River and Shane Hale of Alton; and three sisters, Jo Hale of Biloxi, Carol Townsend of Atlanta and Theresa Hale of Bethalto, Ill.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Kimberly Allen will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.
