Nancy Florence Gray

Nancy Florence Gray died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 80.
Miss Gray was born on June 9, 1931, to Roy and Eula Gray of Vicksburg. She was a graduate of Carr Central High School. She worked as a window dresser at The Valley Dry Goods Department Store and at Scallions Jewelers for many years. She also worked at Abraham Brothers Department Store.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two sisters, Helen Gray Shelton and Virginia Gray Palermo of Vicksburg; and her brothers, Bill Gray of Cadiz, Ky., and Kenneth Gray of East Point, Ga.
She is survived by a brother, Roy Gray Jr. of West Monroe, La.
Miss Gray had a number of dear cousins in the McCormack family in Vicksburg, Jackson and Madison County; and nieces and nephews including Tommy Shelton of Vicksburg, John Shelton of Ridgeland, Vince Palermo of Vicksburg, Susan Palermo Gussio of Ridgeland, Renae Gray Clements and Rhonda Gray Osborne, both of Gainesville, Fla., Donald Gray of St. Augustine, Fla., David Gray of Columbia, S.C., Ken Gray of Nashville, Tenn., and Mickey Gray of Acworth, Ga. She also had a number of great-nieces and -nephews in several states. She dearly loved watching her great-nieces Lindsay, Lori Beth, Caitlin and Kali Shelton grow up in Vicksburg.
A private memorial service will be at a later date. Miss Gray donated her body to science through the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
