A Warren County man arrested in Jackson Wednesday night driving a car reported stolen 10 days earlier was returned to Vicksburg this morning to face charges, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Georgire Benard, 57, 101 Marguerite Drive, was stopped by Jackson police around 10:30 p.m. on Garrett Road, Stewart said. Benard was driving a 2003 Chevy Blazer that, after a records check, was determined to have been reported stolen Oct. 10 from the 1500 block of Ethel Street, said Stewart.

The vehicle was recovered, and Benard was held in the Hinds County Detention Center before being returned to Vicksburg, charged with auto theft.

He will be held in the Warren County or Issaquena County Jail on a $15,000 bond, said Stewart.
