David Williams of Tegacay, S.C., paddles his kayak toward the boat ramp at City Front Monday to spend the night in Vicksburg. Williams, an avid kayaker, started at the headwaters in Itasca Lake, Minn., on Aug. 12. He is planning to stop in New Orleans after being on the river for almost three months and covering more than 2,200 miles on water.
