MAIS District 3-A: Tallulah Academy at Union Christian
7 p.m. Friday
Records: Tallulah Academy (1-9, 0-6); Union Christian (0-9, 0-6)
Tallulah Academy: It’s been a season to forget for Tallulah, but it can finish with a winning streak by beating winless Union Christian. The Trojans earned their first victory of the season last week with a 7-0 decision over Prairie View. That snapped a 12-game losing streak that went back to last year.
Union Christian: The Lions are concluding a third consecutive dismal season against Tallulah. Union Christian hasn’t won since the 2010 season opener, a span of 18 straight games, and is just 2-27 since the start of the 2009 season. Union Christian has only scored one touchdown this year.
Coach’s quote: “I think this is going to be a big game for both of us. It’s a weird situation because they’re hungry for a win and we’re coming off a win and want another one. We’ve got to play like it’s a district game and a playoff game.”
— Tallulah Academy coach Chris Busby
