Vicksburg Mayor Paul Winfield hopes a Tuesday luncheon at the Vicksburg Housing Authority will help boost job opportunities.

The meeting, hosted by the mayor, will be at 11:30 a.m., at the VHA, 113 Elizabeth Circle.

“This is an informal meeting to discuss the tax benefits and advantages available to local businesses through (federal employment) tax credits,” Winfield said. “I am paying for the lunch with my own funds. No city tax money is being used. I want to use this meeting to talk with business owners and see how we can create employment opportunities for the citizens of Vicksburg and Warren County.”
