A Vicksburg convenience store was robbed at gunpoint just before midnight Friday, police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.

The clerk at the Suds & Smokes, 887 U.S. 61 North, told Vicksburg police a man walked into the store, displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash and a couple of packs of cigarettes.

He then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspect, Williams said.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The store formerly was a Zip’s outlet.
