City man arrested in woman’s assault

A Vicksburg man sought in an attack on his live-in girlfriend was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Brian Coleman, 38, 112 Meadowvale Drive, was in the Issaquena County Jail on $80,000 bond.

Coleman is accused of attempting to strangle and then cutting Rochelle Williams, 35, during an argument at their home Thursday afternoon.

Stewart said Williams fled, and a friend took Williams to River Region Medical Center, where police were called. He said Williams had three wounds in abdomen and three in the back. She was treated and released.
