As he slowly ambled off the field for the final time Friday night, there was disappointment in the eyes of Vicksburg High coach Alonzo Stevens. Nearby, his wife Linda wiped away a tear.
The disappointment was for the end of a season. The tears were for the end of an era.
Clinton blew out the Gators, 40-13, to deny them their first playoff berth since 2008. The Arrows rolled up 245 rushing yards — 97 of them from Keonté Harper and 94 more from Ali Ellis — and took advantage of a
sputtering VHS offense to pull away in the second half.
