Election: Flaggs-Jones, Hardy retain leads Count to continue Monday

The absentee ballot count for two Warren County political offices continued today with counts for 11 of 22 precincts completed. Officials were about 1/3 of the way through counting absentee ballots from Culkin when the count was stopped. The count is set to resume on Monday. The totals do not take into account the partial Culkin count.
In the race for tax collector, incumbent Antonia Flaggs-Jones holds an 86 vote lead, 7,317 to 7,231, over Republican Patty Mekus. In the race for chancery clerk, Donna Farris Hardy leads Walter Osborne Jr. 6,645 votes to 6,209 votes for a 436 vote lead.
The precincts counted are: Redwood, St. Aloysius, Bovina, Cedar Grove, 3/61, Kings, YMCA, Auditorium, Brunswick, Plumbers and Pipefitters and Oak Ridge.
