Ashley Ebersole, an emergency management specialist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District, has received the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for exceptional performance during the Corps’ response and recovery efforts for the 2011 Alabama spring tornadoes.

Ebersole was attached to the Corps’ Mobile District as the local government liaison officer, coordinating the staffing of local government agencies in seven sectors of the affected area.

A native of Fairfield, Penn., she lives in Clinton and has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in emergency management from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Ala.
