A strong-arm robbery was reported Monday at 9:48 p.m., Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

The victim said he was sitting in his car in the 3600 block of Security Street between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m., talking with friends, when a man approached, punched him in the mouth and took $15 from the vehicle’s center console before running into the woods, Stewart said.

It was not known why the victim waited to report the robbery, he said.

The suspect was described as a black male about 20 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a camouflage jacket.
