Electronics popular in weekend burglaries

Electronics with a total value of $2,200 were among the items reported stolen in a series of weekend burglaries in Vicksburg, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

On Friday, an Apple computer valued at $1,000 and an iPad computer valued at $600 were reported stolen about 2:34 p.m. from a home in the 3300 block of Indiana Avenue. At 5:05 p.m., a Sanyo DVD player valued at $100 was reported stolen from a home in the 2000 block of Ford Street.

At 9 a.m. Saturday, a JVC CD player valued at $150 was reported stolen from a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup. At 12:25 p.m. Sunday, a Cobra .380-caliber pistol valued at $250 was reported stolen from a 1994 Mazda NX 6 in the 4400 block of Halls Ferry Road.

He said two 10-inch Punch sub speakers valued at $200 and a Punch 300 amplifier valued at $150 were reported stolen at 4:27 this morning from an unlocked 1997 Cadillac STS in the 100 block of Greenview Drive.
