Delois Ann Barnes Henry

Delois Ann Barnes Henry died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. She was 55.

Mrs. Henry was a former Collins resident. She attended Smith County Public Schools and Hinds Agricultural High School in Utica. She received a degree from Alcorn State University, where she was a member of Signa Gamma Rho sorority.

She was an administrative assistant at Alcorn State University and at Maranatha Community Church. She also was employed with LeTourneau in Vicksburg.

She had been a member of Shady Oak M.B. Church in Collins; Maranatha Community Church in Los Angeles; Emmanuel Community Church in Hawthorne, Calif.; and Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. Johnnie B. and Leona Barnes.

Survivors include her husband, Lenell Henry of Vicksburg; one son, Lance Henry of Soso, Miss.; two daughters, Nasya Henry and Brianna Henry, both of Vicksburg; a stepson, Travail Henry of Port Gibson; five brothers, Adolphus Barnes and Johnnie B. Barnes Jr., both of Collins, Callaway Barnes of Florence, Anthony Barnes of Collierville, Texas, and Carnell Barnes of Miramar, Fla.; four sisters, Adelia Smith and Georgia Sims, both of Ocean Springs, Jacquelyn Cammon of Morena Valley, Calif., and Sandra Williams of Tulsa, Okla.; her stepmother, Easter Barnes of Collins; one granddaughter; and an uncle, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shady Oak M.B. Church with the Rev. Mincer Minor Jr. officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Reeves Funeral Home Inc. in Mount Olive.
