A Vicksburg man was stabbed in the back Monday night, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Devonta Thigpen, 18, 1403 Division St., was being treated at River Region Medical Center at about 11 p.m. when he told investigators he got into an argument with the mother of his child at the Apple Orchard Apartments, 902 Blossom Lane.

Thigpen was taken to the emergency room by private vehicle, said Pace.

Deputies recovered a knife believed used in the stabbing at the apartment.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was being sought for questioning, Pace said, and the investigation is ongoing.

Thigpen was treated and released, said River Region spokesman Allen Karel.
