Willis W. Wolfe II

Willis W. Wolfe II passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 56.

Willis grew up in Port Gibson. He was a Boy Scout and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Chamberlain Hunt Academy and attended Mississippi State University, where he was a member of the Maroon Band.

He was active in the community for many years. He was president of the Exchange Club and instrumental in establishing the Child Abuse Prevention Center. He served on the Riverfest Board of Directors for several years. He was an entrepreneur and owned and operated BEST Office Supply for 10 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Exa B. and Harold S. Wolfe; and a brother, Grover H. Wolfe.

He is survived by his children, Maury W. Minor (Jared), Willis Waldon Wolfe III and Daniel O’Connor Wolfe; their mother, Mille G. Wolfe; a sister, Elaine Styron; and a niece, Angelyn Griffing.

Graveside services will be held at 4 today, Nov. 22, at Wintergreen Cemetery in Port Gibson with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be David and Suzanne Sessums, Wayne and Shirleen Prescott, John and Lisa Martin, Donna Allen, Tina Abernathy, Jill Taylor, Janet Wolk, Hal Gage, Lee Giffin, Bucky Buckner, Eddie Monsour, Bob Alvarado, Don Morton, Don Mordecai, Wilson Gaillard and Chuck Byrd.

All friends are invited to celebrate Willis’ life at Walnut Hills at 5:30 p.m., following the service.
