Dr. and Mrs. Willie Nettle of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Lydia, to Jackie Dotson Jr. of Jackson. Mr. Dotson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jackie Dotson Sr. of Port Gibson.

Miss Nettle is the granddaughter of Dorothy Myles of Vicksburg and Evelyn Watts of Calumet City, Ill.

Mr. Dotson is the grandson of Ledon Dotson of Lorman.

The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Warren Central High School. The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Port Gibson High School.

Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Dec. 23, 2011, at Bypass Church of Christ. A reception will follow at Bypass Church Annex. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
