A Thursday night call about a disturbance at a home in the 1000 block of Dewitt Street resulted in the arrest of a Vicksburg man on theft charges, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Stewart said Derrick D. Turner, 32, 2619 Washington St., is accused of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He was being held without bond in the Warren County Jail pending an initial appearance today in city court.

Stewart said officers arriving at the home about 9:09 saw Turner throw something out of a window into some bushes. He said further investigation revealed that the item was a Bryco .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol reported stolen in August from a car parked in the 2500 block of Ken Karyl Avenue.
