Mary Esther Rooks died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at her home. She was 67.

Mrs. Rooks was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and attended Alcorn State University. She was a member of Cool Spring Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Davis and Willie Mae Davis; and a brother, Lemoyne Davis.

Survivors include her son, William Lee Rooks of Humble, Texas; two daughters, Shannon Rooks and Sherise Rochelle Rooks, and one brother, Harold Leon Davis, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Margaret Davis of Cleveland, Ohio, and Edna Davis Lee of New Orleans; five grandchildren, Brittany Shelby, Clarence Shelby Jr., Shania Wince, Bailey Watson and Stohri Watson, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cool Spring M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.
