Golden Eagles clobber La Tech

Maurice Bolden scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds to lead Southern Miss to a 78-62 victory over visiting Louisiana Tech at Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg.

Southern Miss (7-2) led most of the way, shooting more than 50 percent from the field.

Angelo Johnson added 13 points and Torye Pelham contributed 10 for Southern Miss, which led by as many as 21 in the second half.

Former Ole Miss player Trevor Gaskins led the Bulldogs (4-5) with 15 points.

Indiana 73, Kentucky 72

Christian Watford hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Indiana a victory over top-ranked Kentucky.

Watford finished with 20 points, giving the Hoosiers their first upset of a top-ranked team since taking down Duke in the 2002 NCAA tournament and setting off a wild scene.

LSU 64, Boise State 45

Justin Hamilton scored 14 points as LSU defeated Boise State in a nonconference game.

Hamilton was 5-of-7 from the field and 4-of-7 from the foul line. He also grabbed five rebounds. Anthony Hickey contributed 11 points.
