Jean L. Kette died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
Mrs. Kette was a longtime resident of Vicksburg where she was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church and various other organizations. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen Ables, and her sister, Barbara Kinnebrew.
Mrs. Kette is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles C. Kette Jr. of Vicksburg; four sons, Charles C. Kette III of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Richard Matthews Kette (Deborah) of Vicksburg, William David Kette (Nancy) of Reno, Nev., and George E. Kette (Pamela) of Ridgeland; one daughter, Katie Kette Marcus (Steven) of Vicksburg; one sister, Gertrude Haden of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Brandy Stavely, Erin, Molly and Bethany Kette, and Don and Sara Marcus; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Kate Stavely and Kette Stavely.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home on Monday from noon until the service.
Pallbearers will be Don Marcus, Steven Marcus, Eustace Conway, Gary Stavely, Eddie Harden, Kenny Harden and Mike Harden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Pierce IV, Dr. Dan Edney, Dr. Mike Davis, Dr. David Halinski and special caregivers Kathy Norris and Deborah Smith.
