JACKSON — Myrtle Alice Allen died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Hinds County Nursing Home in Jackson. She was 74.

Mrs. Allen was born in Sharkey County to Willard D. and Shellie Moore Jones. A homemaker, she was a member of Anguilla Baptist Church. She was an Army veteran.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estal Ed Allen.

She is survived by a brother, Willard D. Jones Jr. of Calera, Ala.; and three sisters, Evelyn Tucker of Rolling Fork, Mary Dean of Jackson and Ruby Langford of Stone Mountain, Ga.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Anguilla Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City. Visitation will be at the church Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
