Different, Posey exchange vows on Oct. 22

Mark Thomas Different and Lauren Elizabeth Posey were married at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22, 2011, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. Dr. Joe C. Rice, uncle of the bride, officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Lloyd Posey of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Dr. Betty Sue Drake and the late Dr. Lloyd Franklin Posey of Hattiesburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Gates Wedgeworth of Vicksburg.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Michael Different of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. Paul Rufus Different and the late Mr. Different and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Marshall Harris of Columbus.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride’s chosen colors were plum, lavender and purple with green and white accents.

Shelia Hess presented favorite hymns and nuptial selections; Leon Henry, cousin of the bride, sang.

Maid of honor was Bailey Christine Stewart of Canton. Matron of honor was Telia Brewer Balthrop of Huntsville, Ala. Bridesmaid was Margaret Elizabeth Pinckney McGahey of Memphis.

Honorary bridesmaids were Whitney Gill Denham of Brandon and Margaret Pikul Hester of Gulfport.

Matthew Paul Different of Atlanta and Paul Michael Different of Vicksburg served as best men. Groomsman was Mark Lloyd Posey of Vicksburg.

A reception followed at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. Guests were entertained with music by the Ben Shaw Band.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Destin, Fla. They will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is employed with KPMG LLP in Jackson, and the groom is employed with Cooper Lighting.

Rehearsal dinner

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Cedar Grove Mansion.

Bridesmaids’ luncheon

Mrs. Gerald Brewer and Telia Balthrop hosted a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Balthrop.

Engagement party

The couple was honored with an engagement party at the home of Dr. Deborah Smith. Assisting in hosting were Mr. and Mrs. Rick Caldwell, Hon. and Mrs. James Chaney, Lt. Col. and Mrs. Michael Gough, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lazor, Dr. and Mrs. Joe Rice, Aileen Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stewart, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Sumrall, Dr. and Mrs. Brent Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Donny Weaver.

Showers

The bride was honored with a room-by-room shower hosted by Dianne Jones and Dorothy Different at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Different.

The couple was honored with a tool and stock-the-bar shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holliman in Birmingham. Co-hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Andy Hicks and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hunter, who hosted a brunch at their home the following morning.

Elisabeth Clarke and Betzebe Clark honored the couple with a fiesta party at Anchuca Mansion.
