ST. JOSEPH — Fred E. Scott died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at his home. He was 58.

Mr. Scott was born and lived in St. Joseph all his life. He was a former police chief and sheriff of Tensas Parish. He was a supervisor for Rural Water Association and a member of the Episcopal faith.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Trevillion Scott of St. Joseph; a son, Todd E. Scott of Natchez; and three brothers, Johnny W. Scott III of Farmington, Mo., Gerald Scott of St. Francisville and David Scott of Shreveport.

Services will be at 1 today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah with the Rev. Joseph Oldenwald officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton. Visitation is today from 11:30 until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Jones, Rickey Jones, Wynn Blanche, Bubba Rushing, Jason Sandidge and Jerry Wellman.
