Earlene Pennington Jackson

NATCHEZ — Earlene Pennington Jackson died Friday, Jan. 6, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Monticello. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Martin and Ruby Pennington; her husband, James Howard Jackson Sr.; a son, James Howard Jackson Jr.; and a daughter, Alice Fay Wiggins.

Survivors include her daughters, Rhonda Kemp of Vicksburg and Sonya Braswell of Natchez; three brothers, James Pennington, Billy Pennington and Kenneth Pennington; two sisters, Eva Young and Nita Cain; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be today at 2 at Laird Funeral Home in Natchez. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Natchez. Visitation will be today from 1 until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Swaggart, Robert Atwood, Purvis Wilson, Johnathan Wilson, Freddie Gamberi and Jerry Harper.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George E. Abraham II, Dr. David Halinski, Bobby Cox and Jack Cox.
