Evelyn G. Andress

PEARL — Evelyn G. Andress died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Hospice Ministries Hospital in Ridgeland. She was 89.

Mrs. Andress was a native of Vicksburg and worked in retail sales as a clerk for 40 years at various locations including Walgreens, Zayre’s, Kent’s Dollar Store and Miller’s in Jackson. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Jackson. Mrs. Andress enjoyed gardening, needlework and various types of crafts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Hart Irwin.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary A. Groseclose of Brandon and Annie Hazel East of Bybee, Tenn.; grandchildren, Robby Kornegay, Richard Groseclose, Asa Groseclose, Allen East, Jamie East and David East; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Cliff Shipp officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robby Kornegay, Richard Groseclose, Asa Groseclose, David East, Robert Andress Jr. and Preston Barrett.
