Ballinger, Mitchell are married at St. George

Jimmy Ray “J.R.” Ballinger and Sarah Michele Mitchell, both of Brandon, were married at 5 p.m. Nov. 12, 2011, at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. The Very Rev. Father John Morris and the Rev. Father Peter Smith of Austin, Texas, officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Melba and Rickey Mitchell of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Timmie I. Fedell and the late Michel Fedell and the late Joe and Loyce Mitchell, all of Vicksburg
The groom is the son of Karen and Kent Parnell of Lucedale and the late Tommy Joe Ballinger of Hurley. He is the grandson of Belle Ledbetter and the late Ralph Ledbetter and Juanita Ballinger and the late James and Martha Ballinger, all of Hurley.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were peacock blue, green and copper. Mary Jo Abraham Wright directed a program of nuptial music. Soloists were Vera Ann Fedell and Rhonda Thomas Wright.
Maid of honor was Mary Lindley Mims of Brandon. Bridesmaids were Vera Ann Fedell of Vicksburg, Lauren Sharp Gardner of Starkville, Shelly Marie Gunnell of McComb, Brittany Michelle Hodge of Raymond, Brittany Nicole Kirby of Brandon and Marion Lee Mims of Columbus.
Charles Adam McQueen of Escatawpa served as best man. Groomsmen were Todd O’Neal McInnis and Jeffrey Patrick Mitchell, both of Brandon; Randal Houston Brown Jr. of Memphis; Destin Edward Ellis of Terry; Michael Dane Mitchell of Union City, Calif.; and Jeffrey Dean Stanley Jr. of Charlotte, N.C.
Usher was Evan Michel Fedell of Vicksburg.
Flower girl was Gabrielle Elise Mitchell of Richmond, Va. Ring bearer was Joseph Dillon Mitchell, also of Richmond.
Tori and Sarah Thomas of Vicksburg served as bell ringers. Reader was Scott Sharp of Oxford.
Special wedding assistant was Donna Nasif Thornton. Sarah Fayard Fox of Brandon served as the bride’s proxy.
A reception was held at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club. For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
They will make their home in Brandon. The bride is a registered nurse at Baptist Health Systems in Jackson, and the groom is employed with the Chicago White Sox Organization.
