Blackledge to marry Kidder at First Baptist

Mr. and Mrs. William David Blackledge of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Anderson, to Raymond Abraham Kidder. Mr. Kidder is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Glenn Kidder Sr. of Jackson.

Miss Blackledge is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Dunagin Blackledge Sr. of Laurel, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Dean Anderson of Madison and the late Betty Anderson of Vicksburg.

Mr. Kidder is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Cagle of Lake Charles, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kidder of Lafayette, La.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of St. Aloysius High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and retreat team.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics and nutrition in 2009 from the University of Mississippi. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and Kappa Omicron Nu honor society.

Miss Blackledge is a teacher at Vicksburg Catholic School/St. Francis Xavier Elementary.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and the football and baseball teams.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering in 2009 from the University of Mississippi, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Mr. Kidder is a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Vicksburg District.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. March 17, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
