Mr. Sills, Miss Coker are wed at Hawkins UMC

Matthew Duane Sills and Emily Jane Coker were married at 6 p.m. Dec. 3, 2011, at Hawkins United Methodist Church in Vicksburg. The Rev. Thomas Emory Miller officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Jane Coker of Kennesaw, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Grover Columbus Coker of Tupelo and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Powers Davis of Demopolis, Ala.

The groom is the son of Jeff and Dawn Sills of Brandon. He is the grandson of Cecil and Sybil Rainey of Jackson and James Sills of Ridgeland and the late Nan B. Sills.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride’s chosen colors were imperial purple, charcoal gray and pine green. A program of nuptial music was led by Dr. Timothy Columbus Coker. Vocalists were Catherine Coker Freeman, Mechelle Sills Lowther and Riley Harper.

Matrons of honor were Catherine Coker Freeman of Vicksburg and Elizabeth Coker Scott of Columbia, Tenn. Maids of honor were Amanda Lim Barnes of Vicksburg and Jenna Patrice Artz of Orange Beach, Ala.

Bridesmaids were Alison Toney Dennis, Molly Katherine Foster and Meghan MacMillan Jones, all of Pearl; Malarie Dawn Sills and Leslie Nabors Stiglets, both of Brandon; Brittany Leigh Oliver and Courtney Weaver Warnock, both of Vicksburg; Ashley Laird Rhodes of Pelahatchie; Samia M. Coker of Cumming, Ga.; and Ashley Lauren Swillie of Broken Arrow, Okla. Junior bridesmaid was Kennedy Alexandria Lowther of Madison.

Honorary bridesmaids were Courtney Dae Burns of Richland, Samantha Ashton Green of Clinton and Caroline Leigh Williamson of Oxford.

Jeffrey Duane Sills of Brandon served as best man. Groomsmen were Christopher Blair Brantley, Trenton Wayne Green and Wesley Jordan Stiglets, all of Brandon; John Bryan Dennis and Phillip Evan Jones, both of Pearl; William Joseph Freeman of Vicksburg; Ryan Marshall Odom of Florence; Andrew Mitchell Westling of Clinton; Adam Paul Jeanfreau and Andrew Michael Jeanfreau, both of Memphis; Kevin Davis Coker of Cumming; and Rhodes Warfield Scott of Columbia, Tenn.

Junior groomsmen were Brighton Sills Lowther of Madison and Tucker Rhodes Scott of Columbia, Tenn.

Flower girl was Annie Bailey Scott, and ring bearer was Coker Warfield Scott, both of Columbia, Tenn.

Kaitlyn Olivia Sills and James Peyton Sills served as program attendants.

A reception followed at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.

For a wedding trip, the couple traveled to Gatlinburg, Tenn. They will make their home in Brandon.

The bride is employed by Medicomp Physical Therapy at Copiah Rehab in Hazlehurst, and the groom is employed at BancorpSouth in Brandon.

Bridesmaids’ brunch

A bridesmaids’ brunch was held the day before the wedding at Anchuca. Hostesses were Maryann Artz, Nikki Jackson, June Miller and Linda Wilkins.

Showers

The faculty and staff at East Flora Middle School honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower.

Samia Coker, Catie Freeman and Betsy Scott hosted a room-to-room shower at the Freeman home.

The bride and groom were honored with a honey-do shower at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon. Hostesses were Tammy Green, Donna Stiglets, Jane Wilson, Debbie Jones and Hendra Harrist.

A couples shower was hosted by Courtney Burns, Alison Dennis, Molly Foster, Samantha Green, Meghan Jones, Ashley Rhodes and Leslie Stiglets at the home of Meghan Jones in Pearl.

The bride was honored with a miscellaneous shower at Hawkins United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Susan Athow, Teresa Chaney, Linn Cheslek, Janie Easterling, Susan Mims, Carol Ann Oakman, Martha Pettway, Cindy Scurria, Cindy Smith and Georganne Swillie.
