FLOWOOD ­— Roy Pat Windham, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lynn Windham, a Jackson native; two daughters, Kathleen Windham Marcel of Denver and Sandra Windham Parker and her husband, John E. Parker, currently living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Windham is also survived by his two stepchildren, Clark Robinson (Tanya) and their children, Grant and McKenzie, of Jackson and Mary Francis Meister (Ryan) and their children, Chase, Riley and Tinsley of Greenville, S.C. He has two grandchildren, Herbert Marcel (Nicky) of New Orleans and Amanda Parker Brooks (Adam) of Anchorage, Alaska; and three great-grandchildren, Parker Young and Maseyn and Holsten Brooks.

Mr. Windham was born in Smith County on Feb. 4, 1930. He grew up in Vicksburg and Baton Rouge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Summerfield Roy Windham and Myrtis Gambrell Windham; a brother, Max Windham, all of Bovina; a daughter, Diane Windham of Houma, La.; and a stepson, Alan Robinson of Jackson.

A graduate of and football player for Istrouma High School and LSU, Mr. Windham served as a pilot in the Air Force between 1954 and 1959. Mr. Windham and his family settled in Houma. Entrepreneurial by nature, he launched and managed several businesses and home and land development projects, including Louisiana Companies, Quality Ready Mix, and Presqu’ile Development. In the mid-80s, he returned to Mississippi and in 1992 married Nancy Lynn. The couple made their home in the Jackson area.

Services will be Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, with visitation at 10 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson, Highland Colony Parkway followed by a memorial at 11 a.m.
