Services for Eva F. Slaughter will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Malcolm O’Leary officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Slaughter died Sunday, Feb.12, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Yous Porter and Agnes Theresa Woods; and her husband, Alexander Slaughter Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Alexander Slaughter Jr. of Dallas and Christopher Slaughter Sr. and Benard Slaughter, both of Vicksburg; eight daughters, Sylvia Melvina Slaughter-Williams, Faye Victoria Slaughter-Blair, Sandra Jane Slaughter-Allen and Sony Jean Slaughter-Cunningham, all of Dallas, Susan Marie Slaughter of Enterprise, Ala., Agnes Theresa Slaughter-West of Bolton, Mary Eva Slaughter-Bonnetty of Killeen, Texas, and Shingyhun Slaughter-Flowers of Vicksburg; two brothers, Joseph Porter of Houston, Texas, and Paul Porter of Broussard, La.; a sister, Mary Porter of Broussard; 19 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends including members of the Cross, Dukes and Hardwick families of Vicksburg and Jackson.
