A convicted felon accused of robbing a Hattiesburg bank Monday led deputies on a foot chase before he was arrested early this morning at Eagle Lake.
Michael Scott Partridge, 24, 2450 Mississippi 27, was captured at about 1:45 a.m. at a residence on Caravane Circle, said Sheriff Martin Pace. The exact address of the house was not available.
A group of deputies led by Lt. Billy Heggins began the search for Partridge at about 1:30 a.m., Pace said.
“As they approached the house, the subject jumped out of a back window, and a foot chase ensued,” Pace said. “Deputies were able to get him tackled and handcuffed.”
Partridge is accused of walking into a Hancock Bank in the 3300 block of Hardy Street in Hattiesburg and demanding an undisclosed amount of money, said Hattiesburg police Lt. Eric Proulx.
Officers from Hattiesburg were expected to pick up Partridge this afternoon, Proulx said.
In Warren County, Partridge pleaded guilty in 2009 to a robbery in 2007 and was sentenced to 10 years, partially dependent on his completing a substance-abuse treatment plan.
He later was arrested for credit card fraud, and his probation from the 2009 conviction was revoked. He was sentenced to another treatment program, a spokesman in the District Attorney’s Office said this morning. After that, the spokesman said, he began a new probation period.
