Irving A. Crews

Irving A. “Chief” Crews died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was 53.

Born in New Orleans, he was the son of the late Willie Dee Crews and Barbara Post Crews.

Mr. Crews had been a Vicksburg resident since 1977 and, at the time of his death, was employed by Atwood Chevrolet. He was a former employee of EFABCO of Vicksburg.

He was a member of the Vicksburg Cruisers and Gulf Coast Corvette Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Crews of Vicksburg; one daughter, Tara Pettway of Vicksburg; granddaughter, Ashlyn Boler of Vicksburg; two sisters, Leanne Shipley of Monroe and Gloria Crews of West Monroe; two brothers, Tommy Crews and Tony Crews, both of Hattiesburg; and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Clemts, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Reeks Cemetery in Pioneer, La. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Crews, Jared Freeland, Rick Henry, Bobby LaCaze, Randy LaCaze and Bruce LaCaze.
