Mercer snaps MSU’s win streak

Brandon Barker allowed one run in eight innings as Mercer snapped Mississippi State’s seven-game winning streak with a 6-1 victory Saturday afternoon in Starkville.

Mississippi State (13-3) hit into three double plays and stranded six runners.

Logan Gaines hit a solo home run for Mercer (12-4), and Nick Backlund had four of the team’s 14 hits.
