A 3-year-old Vicksburg girl who was run over by a car Saturday afternoon was in good condition this morning at University of Mississippi Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Peggy Wagner said.

Vicksburg police Lt. Sandra Williams said Celeste Heard was injured about 3:15 p.m. Saturday, when the car she was standing behind slipped out of gear and rolled over her at a home in the 300 block of North Locust Street.

She said a 16-year-old sitting inside the parked car told police she knocked it out of gear, causing it to roll back.
