James Edward Dement was born Jan. 11, 1952, and died March 21, 2012. He was 60.

Mr. Dement was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Gertrude Dement; a brother, Cecil Dement; and a sister, Nettie Ryan.

He is survived by his fiancée, Susan McCarter of Benton; one daughter, Tina and Tony Jensen of Afton, Iowa; three grandchildren, Shane, Jenna and Katie Jensen, all of Afton; three sisters, Margie and Ricky Dorrell of Yazoo City, Audrey and Rusty James and Emma and Bill Tennant, all of Vicksburg; one brother, Howard Dement of Vicksburg; Lisa and Don Womack of Satartia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at New Beginnings Church, Lee Road, for family and friends.
