Douglas Elwood Campbell Jr., age 61, died Thursday, March 22, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Campbell was born in Port Gibson and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 35 years. He was a general carpenter. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed nature and animals. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Douglas E. Campbell Sr. and Mary Cleo Trim.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Campbell of Vicksburg; his sons, Bryan Campbell and Brad Campbell, both of Vicksburg; his sisters, Linda Ivey of Vicksburg, Irene White of Liberty and Connie Evans of Port Gibson; and his grandchildren, Grace Campbell, Callie Campbell, Bo Campbell and Jayden Campbell.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Abel officiating. Burial will follow at Wintergreen Cemetery with Glenwood Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Pallbearers will be John Valentine, Melton Valentine, Gregg Johnson, David Johnson, Mark Yelverton, Howard Way, Everett Gatlin and Brandon Davidson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rhada Hopkins, Kyle Mattson, Brian Wells and Henry Brady.
