The engagement of Charlotte Denise Barnes to Eric Dwayne Sylvester Sr., both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged June 15, 2012, in a private ceremony. Attendance is by invitation only.

Miss Barnes is the daughter of the late Joann Andrews Barnes and Walter Earl Price of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Johnny and D’Ellan Robinson Andrews and the late George Sr. and Willie V. Price, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Sylvester is the son of Jesse and Annie Bell Sylvester of Redwood. He is the grandson of the late Joseph Sylvester Sr. and Rosie Lee Sylvester and the late Mac “MC” Qualls and Essie Mae Qualls, all of Redwood.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a member of NJROTC and the varsity choir. She attended Hinds Community College.

Miss Barnes is a cashier at Bovina Grocery.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Warren Central High School, where he was a member of NJROTC.

Mr. Sylvester is a security supervisor at River Region Medical Center.
